Oscar winning music director AR Rahman has been admitted to a corporate hospital in Chennai on Sunday morning.

According to a News 18 report, Rahman was rushed to the hospital in the early morning of March 16 and is currently under medical care at the Apollo Hospital, where he is being closely monitored by doctors. He is expected to be discharged by noon.

The report added that he experienced neck pain and went for a check-up after returning from abroad. More details on his condition are awaited.

The Oscar-winning composer had recently returned from London, where he participated in an event at a prestigious music academy.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also shared an update on social media platform X regarding the composer’s health.

Stalin wrote, “As soon as I heard the news that Isaipuyal @arrahman had been admitted to the hospital due to ill health, I contacted the doctors and inquired about his health! They said he is fine and will be back home soon! Happy! (sic).”
