Details about Destiny 2 Lightfall, a re-enacted raid, and the season 18 name have leaked ahead of Bungie’s presentation.

Some of the 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase reveals have already been made public.

Major Destiny 2 leaks occurred over the weekend, just days before Bungie’s 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase debut on Tuesday. A data miner discovered backend data on Bungie’s website that revealed the name of season 18, a major new feature coming in Destiny 2: Lightfall, and which original Destiny raid will be released on August 26.

Josh Hunt, a data miner and creator of several Destiny tools (including Ghost Overlay), revealed images of internal Bungie data pertaining to the Destiny 2 Showcase in a tweet on Friday.

Hunt revealed the blueprint for a Bungie product page for Nebula, the internal name for the upcoming Lightfall expansion. The image includes the headers “Our End,” “Outrun,” “Guardian Toasts,” and, most intriguingly, “Strand.” Strand has been rumoured to be the name of Destiny 2’s second Darkness subclass for weeks, and Hunt’s leak appears to confirm that the power set will debut in Lightfall.

On Saturday morning, Hunt tweeted again, this time with product page details for Season 18 and the return raid. Ginsor, another long-time data miner in the Destiny community, retweeted Hunt’s leak, and Hunt thanked Ginsor for pointing him in the right direction.

Season 18 will be called Season of the Plunder, and will see the return of the beloved King’s Fall raid from the original Destiny’s first major expansion, The Taken King. Season of the Plunder will include two types of story missions and two activities: Ketchcrash, No Quarter, Expedition, and Hideouts.

This official name appears to confirm a number of leaks that have been going around the (mostly) reliable D2 Leaks Discord for a few weeks. Season of the Plunder appears to be a pirate-themed season, with the return of Eramis, the big bad from Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

In terms of King’s Fall, Bungie revealed the existence of another returning raid during last year’s reveal of The Witch Queen expansion. However, the studio has been tight-lipped about which raid will return, even going so far as to only use the word “Redacted” when describing the rules and dates of the upcoming World’s First race.

This leak came just hours after Ginsor revealed a major crossover between Destiny 2 and Fortnite. The crossover, as well as all of the leaked Destiny 2 details discussed here, will most likely be announced during the 2022 Destiny 2 Showcase on Tuesday. The showcase will begin at 9 a.m. PDT/noon EDT on Bungie’s Twitch, YouTube, and bilibili channels.
