Legendary juju musician King Sunny Ade (KSA) will appear in Toyin Abraham’s highly anticipated film, Turmeric! Bad and Candle. Set to hit cinemas on December 20, the movie marks the fifth installment in the popular Baker series, known for its comedic flair and social commentary.
The film centers around Yetunde, played by Abraham herself, a young woman struggling with self-doubt. In a bid to cover up her insecurities, Yetunde fabricates elaborate stories about her social status, leading to a series of humorous and relatable situations.
Toyin Abraham took to Instagram recently to share the exciting news of KSA’s involvement, posting a heartfelt video of the 78-year-old music icon arriving on set. “A Cherished Dream Achieved: King Sunny Ade in Turmeric! Bad and Candle,” she wrote, expressing her deep gratitude for the legendary artist’s participation.
Abraham revealed that making this dream a reality was a major milestone for her, one that was made possible thanks to the encouragement of her husband, Kola Ajeyemi. “Despite initial doubts, my husband’s encouragement pushed me to pursue my dream relentlessly,” she shared in the post.
