Matt Maltese has shared his new song ‘Pined For You My Whole Life’.
The songwriter is back, with new album ‘Hers’ set to land on May 16th; there’s a full UK tour planned, too, including a night at London’s Roundhouse on November 28th.
Out now, new song ‘Pined For You My Whole Life’ has a soulful appeal – crisp pop worthy of the Style Council, it fits neatly on to a dose of 45RPM vinyl.
Infatuated by vintage pop songwriting, Matt Maltese gives those impeccable influences a modern twist, coupled to his strikingly on-the-nose lyricism.
He comments…
“Potentially the most amount of yearning I’ve done in a song. Which is saying something. Musically the song was a true joy to make, and is heavily inspired by all the Motown and soul I was grown up with. I’m not ashamed to say I get a lot of joy out of writing boldly pathetic declarations of love through the veil of American-leaning soul music.”
