OnePlus launched an Android smartphone called the Ace in China that also debuted globally as the 10R in 2022. Now, the brand is expected to produce a second generation in the new year. More alleged clues as to its design and specs have now emerged, suggesting that it may have much more of a flagship look that its predecessor in 2023.

The first-gen OnePlus Ace (or 10R) launched as a smartphone with 150W ultra-fast-charging variants as a unique selling point. However, its successor is thought to take somewhat of a step back with a 100W spec in 2023. Now, more potential details as to its display and rear camera layout have emerged.

According to the reliable leaker Digital Chat Stationthe latter will take a form very similar to that of the upcoming top-end 11. Therefore, the Ace 2 may also have an updated circular camera hump, tipped to contain a 50MP main shooter, even though this one will be a premium mid-ranger at best.

On that note, the Ace 2 is projected to run on the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, rather than the 8 Gen 2 of the 11. It is also thought to switch to a curved 1.5K display with a central punch-hole, whereas its more premium counterpart might get a flat QHD panel with a predictably counter-mounted selfie camera.

Therefore, the Ace 2 is now generally depicted as a more affordable version of the 11. However, should the upcoming flagship do better than its 10 Pro predecessor, that may be no bad thing.
