Blues rock duo The Black Keys have shared new single ‘The Night Before’.
The band endured a rocky 2024, with a tour cancellation and social media blowback. Opting to push ahead, The Black Keys decided to answer with music – and went back in the studio.
New album ‘No Rain, No Flowers’ will be released this year, alongside an international tour taking in North American and European dates.
Out now, new single ‘The Night Before’ is a blast of raw rock energy, with the duo – And auerbachandPatrick Carney– penning the song with theGrammy Awardwinning songwriterDaniel Tashian.

“It’s so groove-based. ‘The Night Before’ started with a chord progression that Daniel and I came up with and the rest just fell out. It was really collaborative and all came together in about 30 minutes.”
Patrick Carneyadds:“We’ve never really worked with songwriters like that in Nashville. It’s crazy because Daniel was one of the first people I met when I moved to town over a decade ago. But we pushed ourselves to bring in some new co-writers, and we really tapped into something cool with Daniel. We’re finishing up the album now and plan to release more tracks leading into the tour.”
A bruising return, ‘The Night Before’ comes with a video shot by Running Bear, in which hotel staff breakout and indulge in some old school rock ‘n’ roll bacchanalia.
