Many pro wrestling fans like speculating about the gossip around the sport, probably second only to actually watching the contests. This daily piece examines the most recent rumours coming out of the pro wrestling rumour mill.
We must always keep in mind that rumours are just that: hearsay. All of this is simply conjecture that is going around the pro wrestling rumour mill; nothing has been proven as true. In a weekly article called Rumor Look Back, which you can see here, we track rumour veracity. Keep in mind to take everything with a grain of salt.
Today’s Rumors: A report that CM Punk would be let go by AEW shortly is spreading and has been pieced together from several sources, including Fightful and the Observer.
Additionally, there are rumours that Punk tore his pec during either the All Out battle with Jon Moxley or the altercation that ensued backstage after the notorious media scrum.
According to Dave Meltzer, it is currently believed that no one associated with the bout will be present at Dynamite this week, with other celebrities who weren’t originally scheduled — including Chris Jericho and Jon Moxley — stepping up in their place.
Several AEW employees who were present at the CM Punk/Elite altercation, according to The Wrestling News, have been suspended.
Additionally, they claim that Chris Jericho made an effort to defuse the situation after the initial altercation. Later on in the evening, Kenny Omega and CM Punk “engaged in conversations,” but it is “not considered to have been beneficial.”
Braun Strowman will continue to be a babyface on the SmackDown roster despite making his return on Monday Night Raw, according to PW Insider.
Insider reports that there is speculation that Malakai Black, who made a possible departure hint at All Out, may be taking a break from professional wrestling since he has been “dealing with some personal issues.” He is no longer included on the AEW roster page.
