Oukitel’s latest rugged tablet has launched just in time for end-of-year celebrations. It has emerged as an even more portable version of its RT1 predecessor, although it debuts with more up-to-date software out of the box. It is now available with a sizeable discount off its listed retail price for a limited time.
The latest follow-up to Oukitel’s inaugural RT1 has launched with much the same IP68/69K/MIL-STD-810H-rated build for “enhanced durability“. It is also driven by the same MediaTek Helio P22 SoC as its larger sibling – however, the RT3 stands apart with a smaller 8-inch display.
Then again, its switch to a more compact form-factor has come with a resolution downgrade to HD for its “scratch-resistant” screen (as well as a fairly odd 14.4:9 aspect ratio). Its selfie camera is also 8MP, compared to 16MP in the RT3.
Nevertheless, the latest rugged Oukitel tablet also comes with newer software as standard: it is based on Android 12as opposed to 11 in its predecessor. However, its smaller build has also cut its battery capacity to 5,150mAh, or about half that of the larger RT1. It has also been left with the same minimal 4GB RAM/64GB storage configuration as its forebear.
Oukitel has set the RT3 at a starting price of US$499.98 on AliExpress – however, its convenient launch-window 70% discount brings that down to a much more attractive US$149.99 on the platform from now until December 25, 2022.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
