The Nigerian Afro Percussion band led by Percussionist, Singer and songwriter Abiodun Oke otherwise known as Wura Samba has released their third album titled ‘Ajo Rebirth ‘.
Ajo Rebirth according to Oke ,a follow up to ‘Onala’ is a 12 track album which captures the essence of Yoruba fusion music in a high intensity ,live recorded format that captivates the listeners from beginning to the end.
He said that the album released on 28, February 2025 is a refix of the first album called ‘Ajo’,because the first album contains only percussion while ‘Ajo Rebirth ‘ is a mixture of percussion blended with bass guitar, horns and other musical instruments.
The leader of Wura Samba band said he is currently working on the video and will be out any moment from now, as work has reached an advanced stage on the production,’this will help in promoting the album in Nigeria and other countries ‘.

Wura Samba is a 9-piece afro drumming and percussion band that brings the electrifying vibrations of Africa. The band
combines African drumming, folk songs and costumes in an innovative showcase. It performs contemporary African music using expired
modernized Sambabe, an 8-piece traditional square wooden percussion instrument which is influenced mainly by the Yoruba culture of
West Africa.
Prominently supported by other traditional percussion instruments like dundun talking drums, bata drums, sekere and
Agogo, bass guitar and rhythm guitar and trap drums.
His lyrics are in Yoruba, English or a blend of the two as colloquially
spoken in Nigerian cities. Assisted by two female backup vocalists, Wura Samba’s music is a fusion of traditional African folk songs and
modern use of classical and Yoruba traditional percussion instruments. Many of the songs dwell on social issues, while others simply
entertain.
Having worked professionally in the Nigerian music industry for over 20 years, the multi-talented artist and percussionist, Abiodun Oke,
Professionally known as “Wura Samba” has performed a wide range of events across Africa, Europe and the Middle East.
Wura(meaning”Gold” in the Yoruba language of West Africa) has performed at major concerts, shows and festivals including the 60th Art
Stampede in Lagos, the 2006 Encomium political Awards Night, City People Magazine Concert, MUSON Festival, World Music Day 2008
show at NTA Channel 5 Lagos, and the 2012-till date Felabration Music Festival and others.
