Blige has branched out into acting, producing, and entrepreneurship, but she always returns to her roots – music.
“My career has taken many unexpected twists, including acting, producing, founding companies, and now even my own music festival,” Blige said in a statement.
“Throughout it all, I kept returning to my first passion, music. Receiving the Icon Award at the Billboard Music Awards is a tremendous honour and I am genuinely humbled.”
As she gets her historic honour, Blige is expected to wow the crowd. Fan-favorite two-step stomp and classic tunes are expected.
It will all be OK.
