2023 Best Colleges Rankings are released by US News & World Report.
The 2023 U.S. News & World Report lists Georgia Institute of Technology as one of the greatest public colleges in the country, and its programmes are still among the best in the world. News & World Report’s list of the best colleges.
All 10 of Georgia Tech’s engineering programmes were ranked in the top 5 in the US in the most current report, which was published on September 12 and was the fifth consecutive year. Seven of these programmes came in first or second place in their respective disciplines. In terms of the best undergraduate computer science programmes, Georgia Tech was ranked No. 5. At Georgia Tech, more than 66% of undergraduate students are studying engineering or computing. Additionally, Georgia Tech was listed as having one of the top 20 undergraduate business programmes in the nation.
Georgia Tech is ranked No. 15 overall in the category of best public universities. Along with Brandeis University, Case Western Reserve University, Northeastern University, and Tulane University, Georgia Tech is ranked No. 44 among public and private universities. Georgia Tech is ranked No. 8 among the top universities in the country for innovation. Georgia Tech is ranked No. 5 for Co-op/Internship Programs and has risen to No. 16 for Senior Capstone Projects in other categories that showcase academic excellence.
Georgia Tech President ngel Cabrera remarked, “We are proud to see our programmes in engineering, computers, and other areas among the best in the nation.” “We also appreciate being included once again among the top public colleges in the country, despite the fact that we performed five spots worse this year than we did last. It is sad that our successful efforts to serve more students and reduce expenses penalise us in these rankings. The rankings also correctly highlight the need for us to improve in terms of social mobility. Although we serve many fewer Pell students than we should, we have one of the highest graduation rates in the country for Pell students, so we need to keep trying to fix that.
In-depth analysis of the statistics for the College of Computing reveals that four of Tech’s computer science programmes are among the top five in the nation, with game development coming in at number three and cybersecurity at number four. The sixth-best programme for artificial intelligence at a major university is at Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech is tied with Cornell University, Princeton University, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign for fifth place overall in computer science.
Two Schools at Tech received No. 1 rankings, preserving their No. 4 overall position for Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs. For the first time, the H. Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering was ranked top. For the 28th year running, Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering has received this honour.
In a tie with the University of Wisconsin Madison, the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, and the University of Washington, the Scheller College of Business is ranked No. 19 for Best Undergraduate Business Programs. Business analytics came in at No. 3, followed by management information systems and quantitative analysis at Nos. 4 and 3 respectively for Scheller’s business programmes.
Georgia Tech rose in the ranks for best undergraduate instruction, moving from 58 to 41.
