Dacia has launched the Spring Extreme with ELECTRIC 65 engine, which costs just €22,300 (~US$24,197) in France. The latest electric car from Dacia also showcases the new Extreme trim, which will also be available on other models.
The Dacia Spring Extreme with ELECTRIC 65 engine has been showcased at the 2023 Brussels Motor show. The Extreme trim introduced a Slate Blue color, with copper brown elements on the roof rails and wing mirrors. A striped design sits on the front doors, and map-style prints are placed on the bottom of several panels. The car’s interior features similar topographic patterns and copper brown elements. Dacia has announced that this new Extreme trim will also be available on the Sandero, Duster and Jogger models, replacing the Expression trim.
The latest ELECTRIC 65 engine will initially be available exclusively on the Spring Extreme. The 48 kW motor delivers 65 hp to provide faster acceleration and a wider range. The model has a 220 km (~137 miles) WLTP mixed cycle range and a 305 km (~190 miles) WLTP city centre range. For comparison, the standard model has a 33 kW 45 hp engine and a maximum range of 251 km (~156 miles).
Dacia claims it has received over 100,000 orders for the Dacia Spring EV since it launched in 2021. Customers can now order the Dacia Spring Extreme with ELECTRIC 65 engine in France for €22,300 (~US$24,197), making it one of the cheapest electric cars on the market. The first Spring Extreme EVs are expected to be delivered before the summer, and the regular Dacia Spring is slated to arrive in the UK sometime in 2024.
