Following last year’s success, Ramadan Nights at Hayy Jameel returns with vibrant cultural programs until March 29. The event runs under the slogan “Hayy Lights Up,” inviting visitors to explore craft bazaars, film screenings, workshops, and live music daily from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Uns Kattan, Art Jameel’s deputy director, shared that over 40,000 visitors joiARtned last year’s debut. “This year, we expanded opportunities for creativity, cultural exchange, and community bonding,” she said. Attendees enjoy traditional board games, heritage crafts, and fusion cuisine from vendors like Aysh Academy and Sofia’s Bistro.
Local Artisans & Global Flavors Shine
Highlights include Jebna Al-Eid (March 2–4) and Ramadaniyat Lavender (concluded March 8), blending Oud melodies, artisanal goods, and global eats. Ghada Khalid of Lavender Events noted, “We introduced Eid makeover packages and diverse cuisines, from Mexican to Uzbekistani, to capture Ramadan’s essence.”
Hayy Cinema screens the My Heritage series, showcasing Arab World Heritage sites nightly from 10 p.m. Interactive workshops feature Arabic calligraphy, Hejazi printmaking, and crafts by local and refugee artisans. Community talks delve into Jeddah’s history, mental health, and Ramadan traditions.
Family Fun & Artistic Exploration
Families flock to Hayy Explorers for storytelling and crafts (10 p.m.–1 a.m.), while art lovers admire exhibitions like Thread Memory: Embroidery from Palestine. Abeer Dahlawi of Muse Center said, “We offer classic games like carrom and chess to spark joy and connection.”
Dalia Rahman, a guest, praised the event: “We found unique Eid dresses and avoided crowded malls. Hayse Jamel blends worship, culture, and shopping perfectly.”
