Karrion Kross joined David Shoemaker on The Ringer Wrestling show following WWE Extreme Rules to discuss his comeback to the organisation and other subjects. Kross discussed the variations between now and when he first joined the main roster:
“Well, I don’t know if I’ve ever said this in public, but the audience laughed the first time I appeared wearing the mask. They were making jokes. When I first started my business, I always remember telling myself that when everything is said and done, I want to leave this location in a better condition than when I first arrived. You wish to improve those who are close to you. You wish to improve the product. You wish to improve your performance. I’m constantly looking for the ideal partner. That’s similar to how I view wrestling. I just wanted to put my best creative foot forward because I’m searching for the ideal story. I was like, “You know, what I’m doing right now to me at the moment, currently, it felt like I was betraying all that I wanted to give to what I was doing because the fan in me is still alive,” when I said that and I heard people laughing. I learn to read an audience in this way. It will never work to say, “I’ll tell them what they’re going to like,” if you get too haughty and distance yourself from them. The difference between the two is that when I left tonight, they were singing our theme song. Our theme song was being sung by the entire audience. We wanted to reach that point before the epidemic, and I did so tonight in Philadelphia before a crowded house.
Karrion Kross on his decision to grow out his hair:
“I had been cast in a movie. They asked if I could grow my hair on them for the persona they wanted me to play. The movie kept getting pushed back and back, something along the lines of, “Well, if you’re paying me, yes, I will grow my hair out.” I thought, “You know what?” I like having my hair, however it might never actually happen. Once more, it was rather unexpected. Although it requires a lot of maintenance that I don’t particularly enjoy, having it is kind of wonderful. Even if I may be exaggerating, it feels like a lifetime has passed since I last had a full head of hair.
