Most Things Share Off Kilter Single ‘Shops!’

Flaunt Weeekly

The London duo have a real streak of individuality…

London Duo Most Things have shared new single ‘Shops!’ – tune in now.

The pair have a unique, off kilter sound – bass guitar spasms, skittering drum beats, and song structures that have an almost child-like sense of innocence.

The duo – Tom Phillips and Malachy O’Neill – are cult favourites in London, smashing out show after show in the city; catch ’em at the Shacklewell Arms tonight (February 11th) in fact.

Out now via So Young Records, ‘Shops!’ is a blast of unabashed originality. One of the first songs the pair wrote together, it acts as a mini-manifesto for Most Things as a whole – fun, wholesome, and catchy to the point of being gleefully annoying.

The band comment…

‘Shops!’ is one of the first songs written as Most Things, it’s made of bass guitar and drums with singing on top. It’s less about going to the shops than the absent-minded endurance of modern living (adverts, new things, ideological fingers up our ideological noses). It is a relatively understated tone setter for what is to come within the world and project of Most Things, and something to listen to when going to the shops.
