Sony’s Soneium has launched its first music NFT collection created by NUU$HI, a Japanese producer, in partnership with Coop Records, a web3 music label. Known as NUU$HI, the collection features 999,999 collectibles priced at roughly $2 with their sale scheduled to run until February 27. Soneium revealed that the collectibles feature unreleased music from the producer and added that the collection “aligns perfectly with Soneium’s core goal” of giving creators the attention and recognition they deserve, something that’s likely to attract music lovers to the blockchain.

Soneium also disclosed that Coop Records has brought over 600 songs on-chain, adding that it strives to prevent “unfair distribution of power among labels, streaming platforms and artists over their creation.”

The blockchain noted that its collaboration with the music label is part of its mission to redefine “music monetization models.” Coop Records founder Cooper Turley said that creators in the blockchain space don’t have a reference point for “best practices,” which results in “very unclear and unproven returns.”

The collection is live on Sonova, a Soneium-based NFT marketplace. The blockchain hailed the marketplace as a platform that unites creators and collectors through an easy-to-use interface.
Flaunt Weeekly More NFT Collections Expected on Soneium and Sonova
NUU$HI is dubbed as the first collection with other collections expected to be launched on the blockchain and its marketplace over the coming months.
The NFT collection’s launch comes six months after Sony announced the Ethereum scaling layer and unveiled Sony Block Solutions Labs (Sony SBL), to help it explore the blockchain and web3 world.
With Sony’s Soneium blockchain launching a music NFT collection, it’s to be seen whether the collection’s success will attract music creators and collectors to the network.
