As part of their long-running weekly video series Fridays At Universalthe music label celebrated International Women’s Day with chairman and CEO Devraj Sanyal calling on the women in the workforce to sing along to pop star Sia’s hit song “Titanium.”

The powerful song has been an anthem for long and Sanyal and his team also took the opportunity to post the video in association with Women of Music India Foundation, with whom Universal Music India has a patron partnership since 2024. Women of Music India aims to promote an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment for female artists, opening doors to new opportunities and fostering a supportive community.

Sanyal posted a special edition of Fridays At Universal and said, “For the first time ever with a large army of my stellar colleagues to join me and Ferzad [Variyava, Universal Music’s head of creative strategy and innovation] shouting out loud and saying enough to tell everyone to stand up, take charge and never let anyone or anything come in their way.”

He added in the caption, “Managed to shoot everyone I could find. To all my ladies who weren’t around know that you are as part of this as all of them in it and we love you and respect you and support you in equal measures.”

Fridays At Universal started about a year ago. Every Friday, Sanyal and two members of his team upload an acoustic cover of popular tracks across languages to showcase a work culture that balances work and play.
