This past Wednesday, CM Punk launched “AEW Dynamite” with a heated promo that called out Jon Moxley, Eddie Kingston, and Hangman Page. Even the current AEW World Champion supposedly deviated from the script during his promo, demanding Page to square off with him in the ring, to which the former AEW Champion made no answer.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, in classic FTR flair, used Twitter to discuss the world champion in the midst of all the hoopla around him. During the AEW World Champion’s post-match celebration at AEW Double or Nothing in Las Vegas, the two made reference to fan art featuring FTR and Punk created by Twitter user @FRL2704. The illustration shows Harwood and Wheeler carrying Punk that night on their shoulders.
Though Wheeler claimed that the illustrator “Completely went into business for himself with this wonderful piece of art,” Harwood joked in his tweet that Punk “bullied me into doing this” that evening in Vegas.
The trio called their stable “CMFTR” until Punk had to take a break due to an injury, and knowing that new trios belts are coming to AEW, we might see the trio team up in the future to compete for those titles. The AEW World Champion is scheduled to unify his title against Jon Moxley on next week’s episode of “Dynamite,” while FTR teams up with Wardlow to face the trio of Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt at AEW All Out. For the time being, Punk and FTR will not be working together.
