Julianne Moore is a superhero who wears a cape.
The “Boogie Nights” star, 61, wore a Valentino gown fit for the most stylish Marvel character to the “White Noise” premiere at the Venice Film Festival 2022 on Wednesday.
Moore’s sheer, heavily sequined ensemble featured a black bodysuit and sweeping cape with sparkling embellishments that looked like fireworks against a night sky.
Cartier jewellery, including a jaw-dropping pair of emerald-and-diamond chandelier earrings and a bracelet and rings from the company’s Panthère collection, was worn by the Academy Award winner, who was styled by Kate Young (whose other famous clients include Selena Gomez, Dakota Johnson, and Michelle Williams).
On social media, fans were obsessed with the glittering gown, calling the redhead “divine,” “incredible,” and “stunning.”
Naomi Watts called the ensemble “glorious,” and Rita Wilson agreed, calling it “so gorgeous.”
Jessica Capshaw urged Moore to “slay Queen, slay,” and Halle Berry bestowed four flame emojis — the ultimate seal of approval.
The “As the World Turns” alum is instilling a love of fashion and beauty in her 20-year-old lookalike daughter, Liv Freundlich.
In July, the mother-daughter team collaborated on an Hourglass Cosmetics campaign.
“Liv appreciates makeup and fashion,” the “Still Alice” actress said of Liv. “She doesn’t go overboard. She really wants to highlight what she has rather than obliterate it.”
The “Dear Evan Hansen” actor, who previously stated that the concept of “ageing gracefully” is “totally sexist,” demonstrates that a leotard and cape can be worn at any age.
Moore will preside over the Venice Film Festival jury, so there will be plenty of fun fashion moments.
