The ‘Next Generation’ Cast of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Takes One Last Ride in the Final Season Trailer (Video)

Troi, La Forge, Worf, Riker, Crusher, and Jean-Luc are all reunited.

The cast of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” is likely getting ready for their last adventure together, more than 35 years after they embarked on their first voyage together, as the trailer for the third and final season of “Star Trek: Picard” debuted at New York Comic-Con ahead of its February release on Paramount+.

Patrick Stewart, Gates McFadden, Jonathan Frakes, Mariana Sirtis, LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, and Brent Spiner were all present at NYCC to watch the teaser be unveiled. The Enterprise-D crew will face off against old foes in the last season, along with “Star Trek: Voyager” alum Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan).

The leader among them in the trailer is Vadic, who is the captain of the alien vessel Shrike and pledges to exact exploding retribution on the Federation. Vadic is played by three-time Emmy winner and “Pulp Fiction” actor Amanda Plummer.

Fans of “TNG” may also recognise the reappearance of Professor Moriarty, a holodeck computer La Forge built modelled on Sherlock Holmes’ arch-enemy who later developed consciousness and became determined to destroy the Enterprise. Spiner will also make a comeback as Lore, the villainous “brother” of Data, the artificial crew member who died with Picard.

In addition, “Star Trek” showrunner Alex Kurtzman announced that “Picard” will be a family affair for LeVar Burton, whose daughter, Mica Burton, will appear alongside him as La Forge’s younger daughter, Ensign Alandra La Forge. As Alandra’s sister and fellow ensign Sidney, Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut will also make an appearance.

On February 16, “Star Trek: Picard’s” last season premieres on Paramount+. View the trailer in the video up top.
