Kensington and Chelsea Council is looking for contractors to carry out £375m-worth of work on its property portfolio.
The borough published an official notice seeking interest in a framework agreement to start in the autumn and run for four years, with an option to extend to a further two years.
Split into four lots, the framework will cover construction works such as planned maintenance, refurbishment and improvements to housing stock.
Among the works envisaged are new builds, adaptations and civil-engineering works as well as the removal of asbestos and measures to address subsidence and other structural defects.
The framework also includes work on windows, external facades, balconies, and kitchen and bathroom fittings.
Although most of the properties are within Kensington and Chelsea, a small number are located beyond the borough boundary.
Work will be divided into lots by value, with a maximum of three lots to be awarded to one tenderer:
- Projects up to £500,000, with an estimated total value of £25m
- Projects over £500,000 up to £2m
- Projects over £2m up to £5m
- Projects over £5m, with an estimated total value of £125m
Tenderers can bid for the first lot only, or any combination of the remaining three lots.
They have until 9 March to express interest in the work. More information is available via the Capital E-sourcing platform.
