Twenty-six-year-old Andre McKenzie, otherwise called ‘Jay’, a music technician of Fosmore Drive, May Pen, Clarendon, was arrested and charged with housebreaking and larceny following the robbery of a house in Cassava Piece, Victoria Town, Manchester on Thursday, October 17.
Reports are that about 4:50 pm, men travelling in a grey Toyota Succeed motorcar forced open the electronic metal front gate to a premises, pried off the burglary bar to one of the windows at the back of the house, gained entry, and then forced open the garage shutter door at the front of the house.
They then drove the Toyota Succeed motorcar inside the garage, where they proceeded to severely ransack the house and remove several electronics and other household items.
The police were alerted by residents who became suspicious of the activities at the home.
On their arrival, a police team proceeded to a section of the community, where McKenzie was reportedly found hiding, and was subsequently arrested.
The Toyota Succeed motorcar was found in the garage of the home that was broken into, along with several appliances and other household items.
The motor vehicle was seized and the items were identified by the caretaker of the property as belongings of the owner of the house.
McKenzie was later charged.
His court date is being finalised.
