Flaunt Weeekly
Mola Oddity have shared new album ‘The Other Side Of Hope’.
The group have floated across the expanses of Asia, gathering like minds in the process; a creative project from the islands of Taiwan and the grasslands of Inner Mongolia, they’ve set themselves loose in Beijing before gathering their thoughts anew.
Shared earlier this year, ‘The Other Side Of Hope’ is an expansive project, a brisk 10-track endeavour that spotlights their dream-like melodic excursions.
Recast in the English language, this fresh version of the record is an entrance point for a whole new wave of fans. Songwriting shaped by a kind of moral optimism, the music on Mola Oddity’s album reaches outwards for a very pure form of connection.
The group’s Birdy K comments…
For Mola Oddity, the creative process always begins with the arrangement: the music comes first, followed by the expression that naturally grows from it. This album is a collective recollection of impactful moments drawn from daily readings, films, and social observations. At its core, the album explores the many dimensions of “hope.”
Hope, in itself, holds the power to endure. Or perhaps, it exists because it is shaped by shadows, tears, absurdities, and fragments of brokenness—echoing the times we live in. Yet, despite it all, we must continue to yearn for hope. After all, if we are all souls who have chosen to return, then even the pain we once thought unbearable becomes something we can endure.
Tune in now.
