Prince Harry, Meghan Markle

Holding hands after the palace unveiled the new royal portrait is Prince Harry.

Just before Queen Elizabeth II passed away, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were shown holding hands while visiting the UK.

Photographer Misan Harriman posted a picture of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex standing close together and interlocking their fingers just two days after the palace revealed a fresh portrait of the royal family.

Harriman posted the Instagram image on Monday with the caption, “The Duke & Duchess of Sussex minutes before attending the opening ceremony of @OneYoungWorld last month.

Markle, 41, looked stylish in red slacks and a red shirt, while Harry, 38, looked dapper in a black suit and tie.

The former “Suits” star appeared to be very serious, then Harry offered the camera a little, delicate smile.

Additionally, the photographer shared a black-and-white image of Harry and Markle from the occasion, where they could be seen again holding hands backstage.

The summit was held on September 5 in Manchester, England, and the Sussexes were there.

The couple left the summit after making an appearance and flew to Germany to take part in the Invictus Games “Dusseldorf 2023 – One Year to Go” event.

But when Buckingham Palace revealed on September 8 that the Queen’s health was deteriorating, their holiday was cut short, and Harry immediately flew to Scotland to be by his grandmother’s side.

Hours later, she passed away, and Harry, regrettably, was unable to say his final goodbyes. And according to reports, Harry apparently found out about the late monarch’s passing online.

Despite differences since they gave up their official duties in 2020, Harry and Markle grieved the Queen alongside Prince William, Kate Middleton, King Charles III, and the rest of the royal family.

The former actress was seen wiping away a tear while Markle and Harry were in the second row during the queen’s funeral.

The palace only revealed a picture of William, Middleton, Charles, and Queen Consort Camilla Parker-Bowles two days prior to the Queen’s funeral. This picture was shot right before the Queen’s funeral.

Harry and Markle were noticeably absent from the portrait, further demonstrating the conflicts within the family.
