Over the weekend, Lagos was alive with energy as Spotify hosted an unforgettable Wrapped 2024 party at the Space Hub in Lekki. The event celebrated the meteoric rise of Nigerian music on the global stage, marking the finale of Spotify’s annual Wrapped parties, which also took place in Johannesburg and Nairobi.
The event brought together media personalities, social media influencers, and music lovers to honor what has been a groundbreaking year for Nigerian music. Spotify Wrapped 2024 revealed impressive statistics, including a 34% surge in global streams of Afrobeats and a staggering 146% increase in local music consumption on the platform—a testament to the genre’s growing dominance.

The night was an electrifying celebration of talent, with a lineup of artists and DJs showcasing the diversity and creativity of Nigerian music. The dynamic M.I.A. hosted the event, bringing her infectious energy and signature style to the stage.
Brazy kicked off the night with her viral TikTok hits, setting the tone for what was to come. Ugandan artist Joshua Baraka wowed the audience with performances of his hits Dalilah and Digii IV. Fido thrilled fans with a preview of his new single Joy Is Coming and brought the house down with his smash hit Awolowo.
Come Maffone of Nigeria’s most streamed artists in 2024, kept the momentum high with his chart-toppers. Morravey captivated the crowd with her soulful sound, while breakout star Zerrydl delivered a show-stopping set. Kaestyle, known for his hit Mr. Dealer, and rising star Deela also brought dynamic performances to the stage.
The DJs took the energy even higher, with Wearethechemicals and Aniko setting the vibe with their EDM beats. DJ 4kerty brought a blend of street pop and Afrodura classics, while DJ Tunez elevated the atmosphere with his signature Afrobeats mixes. London followed with his unique sound, and DJ YK Mule closed out the night with a pulsating mix of street pop hits.
