The laptop version of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 scored 201,290 points on Geekbench’s OpenCL database. It features 16 GB of VRAM, 9,738 CUDA cores and a boost clock of 2,030 MHz. Nvidia plans to unveil it at CES 2023.

As the Ada Lovelace laptop GPUs’ release date approaches, more and more SKUs are beginning to leak online. The GeForce RTX 4080 was spotted on Geekbench not too long ago, and now, it is the GeForce RTX 4090’s turn. The listing also sheds light on the AD103-powered graphics card’s specifications.

The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 laptop graphics card scores 210,290 points in Geekbench’s OpenCL benchmark. It is a whopping ~45% faster than the best Ampere laptop graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (~140,000 average). In fact, it comes within spitting distance of the GeForce RTX 3090 desktop in the same benchmark.

That said, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 mobile might not be able to pull off that feat in the real world due to thermal constraints. It is, after all, a laptop SKU that has to operate with limited cooling. Furthermore, it can potentially draw only up to ~200 Watts under full load; even less so when the CPU is in its PL2 state.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 laptop variant is mostly identical to the GeForce RTX 4080 desktop. It packs 76 SMs (9,738 CUDA cores), 16 GB of GDDR6 memory and can boost up to 2,040 MHz. Nvidia will reveal its remaining specs at CES 2023, which is less than a week away.
