Get the streaming device while it’s $10 cheaper.
As we get closer to the two-day shopping event, early Prime Day deals keep coming up. This time, the Chromecast with Google TV is $10 cheaper. The streaming device is now $40, which is the lowest price it has ever been. This device not only lets you watch Netflix, YouTube TV, and other services, but it also lets you cast from your phone and other devices.
You can get Chromecast with Google TV for $40 at Amazon.
The most recent Chromecast came out in 2020, but it is still a great option for people who already use the Google Assistant or who like the Android TV ecosystem. It can play 4K HDR and Dolby Vision and Atmos content, just like most devices in this price range. It’s as easy to set up as other streaming dongles, but the voice remote is one of its best features. This makes it much easier to move around the Android TV interface, and there is a button you can press to use voice commands to look for content.
You can use the Chromecast with Google TV to turn your TV into a big smart display when you’re not binge-watching your favourite show (sans touch capabilities). Using Assistant commands, you can ask the Chromecast to show weather forecasts on your TV, show live feeds from compatible security cameras, and control smart lights and other accessories. We also like that it works with Ambient Mode, which lets you see Google Photos on your TV even when you’re not using it.
