Due to the departure of several dependable regulars, the 2022–23 season will be one of change.
In 2022–2023, Saturday Night Live will go through a transitional period.
On October 1, the long-running NBC late-night programme will launch its 48th season without longstanding cast members Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, and Kyle Mooney, who all left the programme at the conclusion of season 47. Aristotle Athari, a featured player, Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseor, and Melissa Villaseor all left the show throughout the summer, while Chris Redd announced his departure from the programme in mid-September.
For 2022–2023, the show has welcomed four featured players: Marcelo Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker.
Starting on October 1, the first three weeks of Season 48’s programming will air. The Maverick star Miles Teller will host the season premiere of Top Gun, and Kendrick Lamar will perform. Brendan Gleeson, a first-time host, and Willow, a musical performer, will be the guests the next week. On October 15, Megan Thee Stallion will perform as both a musical guest and the host.
