In a significant move into India’s live entertainment industry, Warner Music India has announced a minority investment in SkillBox, a live events and ticketing platform.
This partnership marks Warner Music India’s expansion beyond recorded music. Founded by Anmol Kukreja and Sandip Ranjhan, with Roydon Bangera and Amarjeet Singha joining early on, SkillBox has grown from a ticketing platform into a full-fledged live entertainment company.
Offering services that include ticketing, live brand solutions, and tech support through Skillbox Pay, the company has built a reputation for organizing niche, community-led events and artist tours for acts such as Jacob Collier, Steve Vai, Divine, and Hanumankind. It has also created intellectual properties such as Bloomverse and K-Wave.
With over 1.5 million users, SkillBox continues to innovate in India’s entertainment space. Its artist management division, Level House, handles talents such as Parvaaz, Blackstratblues, JBabe, and Parekh & Singh, further establishing its influence.
Jay Mehta, Managing Director of Warner Music India & SAARC, commented on the partnership, saying, “Investing in SkillBox, which is a ticketing, live events, and artist management company, blends perfectly with Warner Music India’s aim of being an artist-first, fan-first company. SkillBox’s innovative approach to live entertainment aligns exactly with our vision of providing comprehensive services to artists.”
Alfonso Perez Soto, Warner Music’s EVP for Corporate Development, highlighted the potential of India’s live entertainment industry. “Our investment in SkillBox enables us to expand the services we can seamlessly offer artists, both domestic and international, connecting them with fans across India. We’re eager to leverage SkillBox’s expertise in this space and tap into this high-growth market,” he stated.
Anmol Kukreja, CEO and founder of SkillBox, called the partnership a “significant milestone” in the company’s growth. “With Warner Music’s extensive industry expertise, artist roster, and global reach, we aim to push the boundaries of what’s possible in the live music space,” Kukreja said.
This investment aligns with Warner Music India’s broader strategy in the Indian entertainment sector, following previous partnerships with Divo, E-Positive, and JetSynthesys.
The collaboration with SkillBox is expected to bring new live music experiences to audiences across India, reinforcing Warner Music India’s position as a key player in the industry.
