A multi-faceted journey through sound…

South London artist Tara Lily has shared her debut album ‘Speak In The Dark’ in full.

CLASH has followed her journey for some time now, a bold British-Bengali voice who melts together club tropes, alt-R&B songwriting, and the elasticity of jazz to craft something unique.

Aligned to vital independent label Tru Thoughts, her debut album ‘Speak In The Dark’ allows Tara Lily space to fully unpack her ideas.

Flowing with real intent, the music veers from DNB workouts to dense electronic soundscapes, bypassing spiritual jazz, and aspects of her own Bengali heritage in the process.

Produced alongside Dom Valentino, the 10-tracker boasts appearances from American jazz trumpeter Theo Croker and UK-Bengali lyricist Surya Sen, as well as saxophonist Jazz Lee, Indian classical virtuoso Akash Parekah, Mei Kirby, and additional instrumentation from CLASH cover star King Krule.

Tune in now.
