Amazon has given its fantasy epic show The Wheel of Time an early renewal for Season 3. The change was announced at the show’s Comic-Con panel, and it comes before Season 2 of the Rosamund Pike-led show starts.

In November, the first season of the show, which had eight episodes, started.

Cancellations and renewals of broadcast, cable, and streaming TV shows for 2021–2022.

The Wheel of Time is set in a huge, epic world where magic exists but can only be used by women. It is made by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television, and Rafe Judkins, who wrote for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Chuck, is the showrunner and executive producer.

Daniel Henney plays Lan Mandragoran in The Wheel of Time. Zo Robins plays Nynaeve al’Meara, Madeleine Madden plays Egwene al’Vere, Josha Stradowski plays Rand author, and Marcus Rutherford plays Perrin Aybara.

The Wheel of Time is based on books by Robert Jordan. The showrunner is Rafe Judkins, and Larry Mondragon and Rick Selvage of Red Eagle Entertainment, Mike Weber and Ted Field of Radar Pictures, Darren Lemke, and Marigo Kehoe are the executive producers. Rosamund Pike will be the producer, and Harriet McDougal and Brandon Sanderson will help out by giving advice.

Judkins said, “I’m so happy that we’ll be making a third season of The Wheel of Time.” “The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series. Being able to bring it to TV and show new people the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and it’s something I’ve been working toward since I first pitched the show years ago.

Vernon Sanders, head of global television at Amazon Studios, said, “We are so excited to go deeper into the world of The Wheel of Time with Rafe Judkins and his team, who have done such a great job of honoring Robert Jordan’s vision and giving Prime Video customers an amazing viewing experience. Season 1 was a hit with both Jordan fans and people who were just learning about this amazing world for the first time. This shows that this is a show that really stands out in its genre. We couldn’t be happier to give fans more reasons to be excited about the show and bring more of The Wheel of Time to our customers around the world.”
