The 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is jam packed with powerful components like a Core i9-12900H and an RTX 3070 Ti. Coupled with a crafty design and a beautiful display, the notebook is a stellar gaming machine. However, the laptop carries a price tag of more than US$2000 at full retail. Best Buy has now put the 2022 ROG Zephyrus M16 on sale for a significant 26% discount.
ASUS refreshed the ROG lineup of gaming notebooks at CES 2023. The ROG Zephyrus M16 was also updated with the new RTX 40 GPUs and 13th gen Intel Raptor Lake processors. The introduction of new entries in a notebook series often results in the old models receiving significant price cuts. This is exactly what seems to have happened as the 2022 ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is now going for US$1,599.99 on Best Buy, a discount of US$550 (via slickdeals).
The ROG Zephyrus M16 on sale packs a powerful Core i9-12900Han RTX 3070 Ti16 GB of 4800 MHz DDR5 memory, and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage. The display on the machine is a 16-inch 16:10 panel with a 2560×1600 resolution, a speedy 165 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of advertised brightness, and a claimed 3 ms response time. Finally, the notebook also carries a MUX switch and plenty of ports including a Thunderbolt 4 port.
According to LaptopMag’s review of the ROG Zephyrus M16, the machine’s compact design is excellent. The 165 Hz display also proved to be a delight as it covers 83.6% of the DCI-P3 gamut with a measured brightness of 450 nits.
Thanks to the combination of an RTX 3070 Ti and a Core i9-12900H, the ROG Zephyrus M16 performs quite well in all workloads. For instance, in Red Dead Redemption, the notebook pushed out 60 fps at 1080p with Medium quality settings. Similarly, the ROG Zephyrus M16 scored 11,255 in Geekbench 5.4, almost 4,000 points better than the category average as tested by LaptopMag.
Suffice to say, although the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 (2022) may have been replaced with a much more powerful version, the gaming laptop is still a beast performer and an excellent buy at the currently reduced price.
