“Comedian” Aries Fat-Shames Lizzo and Gets Blasted By Almost Everyone

You have to wonder who is out here giving these men the time of day?!

This weekend, Aries Spears is feeling the heat after his comments during a recent interview comparing popstar Lizzo to the sh*t emoji went viral. While Spears, 47, is reiterating his statements, Lizzo’s fans (and nearly the entire internet) have come to her defence.

“I can’t get past the fact that she looks like the s-t emoji,” Spears said on “Art of Dialogue.” The interview with Spears was posted on Saturday afternoon by the YouTube channel and platform dedicated to “Elevating hip hop culture,” and the comedian can be heard answering a question about Lizzo’s talent, which quickly turned into an assessment of her appearance, health, and his take on the women’s empowerment movement.

“She has a very pretty face, but she keeps showing off her body as if to say, ‘Come on, man.'” Come on, you yo.”

“I’m sorry,” he continued. Listen, I’m not the most in-shape n—a in the world, but when you’re funny, have swagger and confidence, and are decently attractive – I think I’m at least handsome – you get p—y. A woman who is built like a plate of mashed potatoes, on the other hand, is in big trouble.”

As Spears begins to sweat visibly, he begins to dig himself a deeper hole.

“‘Diabetes, heart problems, heart disease, cholesterol.” When it comes to that ridiculous s—, you claim womanhood, sisterhood, and support for your sister. But if you really cared, you’d say, ‘Black girl, we love your confidence, boo boo, but this ain’t it.’ “This isn’t it,” he explained.

He didn’t stop there, though.

“That’s true love!” Spears continued. “Y’all chastise me for making jokes, but you won’t be f—ing honest and say, ‘Sister, put the eclair down.'” This is not it. ‘Treadmill time.'”

As you might expect, Twitter quickly caught fire.

“I’m astounded that Aries Spears had the audacity to attack Lizzo for being fat.” “He’s a fat Black man encouraging us to weaponize fatphobia against Lizzo, the math just doesn’t add up,” one user commented.

Another user responded, “Meanwhile, Lizzo is twerking and jumping around onstage while playing a whole ass wind instrument and this man is dealing with laboured breathing just sitting and hating.”

I’m not sure what it will take for people to stay out of Black women’s affairs, but I sure hope we get there soon.
