Harry-Styles

During his New York City show, Harry Styles was pelted with chicken nuggets.

The former One Directioner, who follows a plant-based diet, was taken aback by his fan’s unusual offer.

During the fifth date of his month-long residency at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Harry Styles received an unusual gift from an audience member: two cold, stale chicken nuggets.

The former One Directioner, who follows a plant-based diet, was taken aback by his fan’s unusual offer. He applauded them for their “very interesting approach” to capturing his attention before inquiring, “Who threw the chicken nugget?”

Styles then noticed a second nugget thrown onto the stage and exclaimed, “That’s another chicken nugget!” before fans began chanting for the singer to eat the nugget. “I don’t eat chicken,” he admitted, before tossing the first nugget into the crowd. He continued, picking up the second: “First and foremost, this is cold, and I’m assuming very old…”

The fan then appeared to request that Styles return their second nugget, to which he responded bemusedly, “Why!?” Despite hocking it back to them, Styles pleaded, “Don’t eat it!” When the nugget fell to the floor, he seemed slightly defeated before saying, “Don’t go looking for it – we’ll get you another nugget, okay?” “Do not be concerned.”

Take a look at some of the footage from the time below:

Styles is currently one-third of the way through his lengthy run at Madison Square Garden, where he will perform 15 shows. The nugget incident occurred during the fifth date, which took place on Saturday (August 27), and the sixth is currently taking place. The next three will be released in quick succession on September 1-3, with the rest following on September 21.

He’ll then continue the North American leg of his ‘Love On Tour’ with six shows in Austin and Chicago, followed by 15 in Los Angeles. Styles will follow up the American leg with legs in South America, Australia and New Zealand, and then the UK and Europe in support of the ‘Harry’s House’ album (which was released in May to a four-star NME review).

There are still tickets available for the American shows, the Australasian shows, and the UK/European shows.

Styles will also appear in Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling (the second trailer for which was released last month) and the romantic drama My Policeman this year. He’s also rumoured to be interested in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he made his debut as Eros in last year’s Eternals.

Meanwhile, Texas State University recently announced that it will offer a course on Harry Styles’ work. The honours course, titled ‘Harry Styles And The Cult Of Celebrity: Identity, The Internet, And European Pop Culture,’ will begin in spring 2023.
