After his son died in a terrible accident, Jack Wagner is going back to work.
The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office says that Harrison Wagner’s body was found in a parking lot in North Hollywood around 5 a.m. on June 6. He was 27 years old.
His parents, actors Jack and Kristina Wagner of “General Hospital,” later set up a scholarship fund to help a Southern California community for people who are trying to get clean.
On the Harrison Wagner Scholarship Fund website, there is a statement that says, “We are heartbroken that he lost his battle with addiction in the end, and we hope that Harrison’s memory will live on through this scholarship and help other young men who would not be able to afford it get help for their addiction.”
More than a month after Harrison died, Jack posted a video of himself at the airport on Instagram. The 62-year-old wrote on July 22: “Thank you all so much for the love and support you’ve sent me.” “It has helped me more than you can imagine.”
He said he was going to Vancouver, British Columbia, to film season 10 of the Hallmark show When Calls the Heart. Jack said he was “beyond excited and grateful” for the show and that he would share behind-the-scenes footage of how it was made later this year.
He said, “I hope it will make you laugh.” “We can enjoy it together, and again, thank you so much for all the love and support you’ve sent me… I’ll send it back to you right away.”
Co-star Erin Krakow said something funny, “Quickly! The scones have to be baked by someone.” Ashley Jones, who used to be on General Hospital, wrote, “Go get “em, my dear friend. Love you so much.”
Last month, Jack’s son, Peter Wagner, said something nice about Harrison. The 31-year-old shared throwback photos with his late brother two days after his passing, with the caption, “Always with you.”
On the scholarship fund’s website, Harrison is described as “a bright, exuberant young man whose smile lit up any room he was in.”
In 1983, Jack and Kristina both made their first appearances on General Hospital as Frisco and Felicia, respectively.
In 1993, they got married, and in 2006, they got a divorce.
Before he left in 2013, they stayed on the soap opera for a few more years.
Last month, General Hospital had its 15,000th episode.
