Jack White gets engaged and then marries in Michigan

Let Bennifer go. Jack White got engaged and married onstage in Detroit last night.

According to the Detroit News When the White Stripes’ “Hotel Yorba” was played at Masonic Temple, White invited Olivia Jean onstage for a duet.

“It’s been such a great day, mind if we get married right now?” White asked the crowd as he proposed to Jean.

In fact, White had a busy day. He performed the national anthem at the Detroit Tigers season opener and released his solo album “Fear of the Dawn”. White and Jean both hail from Detroit.

Third Man Records co-founder Ben Swank officiated the ceremony in front of the singer’s bandmates and parents.

In a quote from Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy,” Swank reportedly said, “We’re here today to get through this thing called life.”

To avoid capturing the moment, White does not allow cell phones at his shows.

White is married three times. Married from 1996 to 2000 to White Stripes bandmate Meg White. They divorced in 2013 after marrying model and singer Karen Elson in 2005.

On Saturday, White performs at the Masonic Temple again.
