Jane Marczewski, also known as ‘Nightbride,’ died at the age of 31.

Jane “Nightbirde” Marczewski, the “America’s Got Talent” star, died at the age of 31 after a brave public fight with cancer.

The singer died Sunday, according to a person with firsthand knowledge, while seeking treatment for the sickness, which had spread to her lungs, vertebrae, and liver.

The devastating news comes after the Ohio native, who was an early favourite to win “AGT,” pulled out of the competition in August due to her illness.

“Life doesn’t always offer breaks to those who deserve them,” Marczewski said, “but we already knew that.”

The singer had delivered a jaw-dropping “AGT” audition a month prior, in which she sang an original song, “It’s OK,” based on her battles with the condition. She received a standing ovation from the audience and a Golden Buzzer from snobby judge Simon Cowell for her performance. On YouTube, a video of the performance has approximately 40 million views.

Marczewski was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time in 2017, the first of three cancer diagnoses she would receive over the next three years, the last of which came in 2019 when a doctor told her she only had three months to live.

“It’s vital that everyone understands I’m so much more than the awful things that happen to me,” Nightbirde stated before her performance, refusing to let the condition define her.

She also stated after the show that she only had a 2% chance of surviving — “but 2% is not zero per cent,” she added.

Despite her struggles with cancer, the singing star expressed gratitude for her time on “AGT.”

“It’s been an honour and a dream come true to share my emotions with the world on AGT,” the performer said on Instagram. “This summer, my point of view has been incredible. What a wonder that the suffering I’ve endured may be transformed into the beauty that inspires others all around the world.”

In a Monday tweet, “AGT” judge Howie Mandel expressed his condolences for Nightbirde’s death.

“In all of our lives, @nightbirde was such a shining inspirational light,” he added. “We must live and learn from her words and lyrics in the future.” As sad as her death makes me, I consider myself fortunate to have met, listened to, and known her.”

Terry Crews, the show’s host, also expressed his sympathy.

He said, “We are devastated to learn about @nightbirde’s passing.” “In this terrible time, our condolences go out to her closest family and friends.” Nightbirde, we adore you.”
