Jax Taylor Clarifies Separation from Wife Brittany Cartwright: “It’s Not Divorce, We’re Together”

“It’s not going to tear us apart. It’s not evil or nastiness,” says the former ‘Vanderpump Rules’ star.

Jax Taylor has addressed the recent announcement of his separation from his wife Brittany Cartwright, emphasizing that it does not signify divorce.

In a video interview with Page Six in Los Angeles, Taylor, 44, asserted that the separation from his wife, 35, is not permanent, stating, “This is not divorce. We’re just taking some time apart to reassess our situation.”

When questioned about the possibility of reconciliation, especially considering their joint participation in the upcoming Bravo series The Valley, Taylor expressed optimism, affirming, “Of course.”

The couple’s priority remains to co-parent their 2-year-old son, Cruz Michael Cauchi, with Taylor emphasizing, “We have a child involved, and we just want to do what’s best for our kid.”

Contrary to recent reports, Taylor clarified that they are currently residing together in their shared home in Valley View, California, despite Cartwright briefly living elsewhere. He stated, “We’re actually living together, living in our home right now. We’re trying to figure it out. It’s all fresh and new.”

Taylor stressed that there is no animosity between them, affirming their commitment to continue filming together for The Valley. He emphasized, “It’s not going to tear us apart. It’s not evil or nastiness. It’s just two people that are hitting a 10-year mark in their marriage and could go one way or another.”

Cartwright had announced their separation on a recent episode of their When Reality Hits podcast, citing a need for space for her mental health but did not delve into specifics.

The couple, who tied the knot in June 2019 after initially meeting in 2015, has weathered ups and downs in their relationship, acknowledging the challenges of marriage.

Their new series, The Valley, is set to premiere on March 19 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
