Meghan Markle’s funeral gown was a subtly beautiful tribute to Queen Elizabeth.

Meghan Markle’s choice of attire for Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was a respect to the late monarch.

11 days after Her Majesty’s passing, on Monday, September 19, a state funeral for Queen Elizabeth was held. 2,000 individuals attended the celebration, including Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Meghan travelled to the funeral at Westminster Abbey with Sophie, Countess of Wessex, while Harry and his brother, King Charles III, followed the Queen’s coffin.

Stella McCartney created a black cape dress for Meghan.

She completed the ensemble with a wide-brimmed black hat, black gloves, and black pantyhose.

Some royal enthusiasts may have recognised Meghan’s chic attire because the Duchess of Sussex previously wore a navy version of the same dress.

Shawn Mendes and Sting performed at the Queen’s 92nd birthday gala at Royal Albert Hall, where she wore the blue version of the outfit.

Meghan dressed the outfit similarly in 2018, keeping her hair updo and using blue shoes to maintain the appearance monochrome.

Meghan nodded to the Queen while wearing her funeral attire’s matching earrings.

A representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed to Insider that the duchess was wearing diamond and pearl earrings that Queen Elizabeth gave to her after she and Prince Harry announced their engagement in 2018.

In her first public appearance with Prince George and Princess Charlotte following her and Prince Harry’s departure from the royal family, Meghan was seen sobbing during the funeral.
