Red flag

Portia de Rossi was forewarned by Anne Heche about Ellen DeGeneres: “Red flag!”

The Emmy winner and Tony nominee, who passed away last week after a catastrophic vehicle accident that put her in a coma for several days, cautioned de Rossi about the “red lights” associated with dating the comedian.

Just one year before her sad death at age 53, Heche gave the caution in a video that appeared on her podcast “Better Together.”

Heche spoke to listeners about her ex, with whom she had a ground-breaking relationship in the late ’90s, saying, “Portia even asked me about Ellen.” Heche remembers Portia even saying, “I’m going to go after Ellen,” in the podcast episode from June 2021.

Heche, however, forewarned de Rossi that she would not be the main character in that romance.

Heche claimed she informed the “Arrested Development” actor, “You won’t be the poster child, girl, because guess what, that poster child has already been taken, and by the way, it wasn’t a fantastic spot,”

Yours won’t be any easier, though. Red flag, red flag, red flag! I’m telling you right now!

Heche made light of the fact that Ellen drove a Porsche and later wed one in another episode of the show. I simply felt it was so dumb since they were so noisy that all she used to do was drive Porsches, which she collected.

Heche dated the talk show host of “The Ellen Show” from 1997 until their relationship unexpectedly ended in 2000.

De Rossi and the actress were acquainted because to their respective performances in Fox’s “Ally McBeal.”

Furthermore, de Rossi attended Heche’s wedding to Coleman Laffoon in 2001 as a guest.

Heche exclusively revealed to Page Six in October 2021 that her troubled connection with DeGeneres finally led to her being “cancelled.”

She claimed, “I didn’t work on a studio picture for ten years.” “I was sacked from a $10 million movie deal and never appeared in a studio film.”

This week, DeGeneres and de Rossi commemorated their fourteenth wedding anniversary.
