Scheana Shay and Brock Davies Wed! Inside the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Couple’s Wedding in Mexico

“I want this special moment… we deserve this,” Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay tells PEOPLE exclusively about her wedding to Brock Davies on Tuesday at the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa in Cancn.

Scheana Shay and Brock Davies deserve congratulations!

The Vanderpump Rules stars married on Tuesday in front of their closest family and friends at the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa in Cancn, Mexico, according to PEOPLE.

“I just wanted us to have a good time with everyone who is important to us,” Shay says of their wedding, adding that they were thrilled to “be able to get that time for a few days with all of our friends and family to celebrate us.”

The reality stars were joined by several Vanderpump Rules co-stars, including Ariana Madix and Raquel Leviss, who were part of Shay’s bridal party, as well as Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, who served as Davies’ groomsmen.

“They’re a big part of our life,” Davies says of the Bravolebrity guests, who included former cast members Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Kristen Doute.

The couple got engaged in July 2021 and say they want a “simple” and “stress-free” summer wedding. They knew they had the perfect flower girl in waiting when their first child, daughter Summer Moon, was born in April 2021.

Shay admits that they practised a lot with Summer, teaching her to throw the petals as she walked, but she knew “she would be adorable regardless.” Davies goes on to say that she enjoyed “being around all her aunties and family.”

Keeping their child entertained was also a major factor in their wedding venue selection. Shay claims she visited four venues with her wedding planner before making a decision.

“They had everything I wanted: a glass platform over the pool, a lazy river, and a small waterpark,” she says of the Dreams Natura Resort & Spa. “It felt right because it was family-friendly. We needed something that was both healthy for her and entertaining for our guests.”

Friends and family from all over the world attended the wedding, including some of Davies’ Australian relatives. “I just wanted as many of Brock’s family and friends to be here because, while this is our second marriage, this is his first wedding,” Shay says. “It was just really important to me to make this as special for him and his family as possible.”

Davies, who is looking forward to spending the day with his two sisters, Nicole and Eleana, adds: “It’s about sharing this special occasion with our closest friends and family.”

“It’s so cool that so many people came on vacation with us,” Shay exclaims. “It feels like a small wedding on a small scale, but it’s large for a destination wedding. This is a special moment for me. Brock is deserving of this. We have earned it.”

Shay’s extravagant first wedding was well-documented in season 3 of Vanderpump Rules, so she wanted to tone things down this time, delegating most of the planning to wedding planner Shelby Marie with Simply Classic Events and sticking to a “neutral tones” theme.

“I’m so thankful I have an amazing planner because she’s made this so simple for me,” Shay says. “I shared my vision with her, and she said, ‘I’ll make it happen.'”

Scheana Shay of Vanderpump Rules ‘learned a big lesson’ about not having a prenup in her previous marriage.

Shay’s dress, which was custom designed by Pol’ Atteu from the Amazon Prime Video reality series Gown and Out in Beverly Hills, reflected her simple attitude.

“I love that we designed this together from scratch, and the lace is absolutely stunning,” she says of the gown, which came with an overskirt that could be removed for the reception. Meanwhile, Art Lewin dressed Davies in all white for his “very first” custom bespoke suit.

Shay’s sister Cortney van Olphen served as maid of honour, and Davies’ longtime best friend Charlie Jones was named Best Man. The bridal party wore dusty pink dresses by Pia Gladys Perey, while the groom’s party wore tan slacks and white shirts from Fashion Nova Men.

“When one of my groomsmen inquired about suits, I told him, ‘Lad, we’re getting married in Cancun, you don’t need suits,'” Davies says, laughing.

Shay walked down the aisle to a custom mix of Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s version of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” mixed by her Vanderpump Rules co-star James Kennedy, and the poolside ceremony was beautifully decorated by Natural Flowers Events.

Following that, attendees will head to the roof for a cocktail hour, where they will be able to sample a variety of drinks and appetisers. During the reception, guests will dine on a “surf-and-turf” steak and salmon menu, with a vegan lasagna option.

The couple did not place too much emphasis on the wedding cake, instead allocating resources to aspects of the night that they believed would be more memorable for their guests. “It’s more for appearances than eating because no one eats the cake,” Davies says of the carrot cake, while Shay adds that it’s “just for cutting.”

The newlyweds’ first dance will be set to Leon Bridges’ “Beyond,” because the lyrics “are very close to our hearts,” according to Shay. While they had hoped for their Vanderpump Rules co-band star’s Tom Sandoval & The Most Extras to perform, complicated logistics forced them to settle for a DJ as reception entertainment. PyroCaribe will also provide a fireworks display for attendees.

Brock Davies and Scheana Shay Summer Moon’s Baby Duty Split is ‘Very 50-50,’ according to her mother.
The night doesn’t end there, as there will be an after party at an on-site cenote. Shay will change into a short dress from Casablanca Bridal in Newport Beach, California, as guests finish the night with tacos and more dancing, courtesy of Kennedy, who will serve as DJ. “It’s Taco Tuesday!” Shay exclaims.

The couple doesn’t have immediate honeymoon plans, but Davies surprises his new wife with the news that a surprise trip is on the way. “It’s reserved—imagine crystal blue waters.”

Shay is excited for them to grow as parents now that they’re married, while Davies is happy to solidify their relationship for any naysayers online — or on their TV show. But, most importantly, they are simply delighted to have “an amazing time with good people” on their special day.

“Just having our amazing family and friends here is all we need,” Shay says, “and just enjoying being in the moment with each other.”
