The College of Business and Computing at GSW is named to the “Honor Roll” for its academic excellence and commitment to its students.

THE AMERICUS The international business honour society Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) has awarded the College of Business and Computing (COBAC) of Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) its High Honors distinction. Schools are praised for their dedication to academic quality, leadership, and student success when they receive distinction in BGS’ Chapter Honor Roll programme.

The 2023 Global Leadership Summit, an annual event that brings together some of the top business students from around the world for a four-day learning and networking experience, will be attended by one BGS student thanks to a scholarship provided by COBAC as a designated Beta Gamma Sigma High Honors chapter.

Additionally, chapters that earn the BGS Honor Roll are eligible to nominate for society-wide prizes and get yearly recognition at business education conferences abroad.

The GSW Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma has been named an Honors Chapter for the academic year 2021–2022, which makes Qian “Maggie” Wang, Ph.D., an assistant professor of finance, very happy. Our successful chapter may be credited to our top-notch students and knowledgeable faculty.

There are now eleven members of the BGS chapter at GSW, which was established in April 2010 and inducted on April 12, 2022. In their junior or senior years, the members must have academic standings in the top 10% of the class, or the top 20% for graduate students.

The AACSB-accredited schools, which are among the top 5% of business school programmes worldwide, are members of Beta Gamma Sigma, an international business honour society that was established in 1913. After being inducted as students, BGS members go on to hold important leadership positions in the business, government, nonprofit, and academic sectors.
