BLACKPINK

The first Korean-language song to reach No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50 is BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom.”

BLACKPINK’s brand-new song has become history on Spotify!

BLACKPINK made their much anticipated comeback on August 19 with the release of “Pink Venom,” a brand-new pre-release single off their upcoming full-length album “BORN PINK.” The song has been at the top of music charts throughout the world since it was released, and its music video has been breaking records on YouTube.

The song “Pink Venom” has now made an astounding debut at No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, making it the first Korean-language song in history to hold that position. This milestone is in addition to its previous successes. BTS’s English-language track “Dynamite,” which peaked at No. 1 on the list back in 2020, is the only other K-pop song to have achieved that position to date.

BLACKPINK has also became the first female group from any nation to reach No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart.

In addition, “Pink Venom” broke the previous record for the most streams in a single day by a female artist in 2022. The song outperformed Beyoncé’s “BREAK MY SOUL” with 7,937,046 streams on its first day alone (5.145 million streams).

Additionally, “Pink Venom” surpassed Taylor Swift’s 2020 hit “Cardigan” (7.742 million streams) to make history as the female artist with the biggest Spotify launch of a song released so far this decade (the 2020s).

Congratulation to BLACKPINK on their groundbreaking successes!
