The Galaxy S21 now has the wonderful One UI 5.1 update.

With the release of the Galaxy S23, this month came a major One UI 5.1 update for the rest of Samsung’s still-supported top-tier phones. We’ve already seen One UI 5.1 arrive on devices including the Galaxy S22, Flip 4, and Fold 4, but now it’s time for the Galaxy S21 to get its hands on it.

Those who own a Verizon Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, or Galaxy S21 Ultra will receive the update before the end of the week. Others with unlocked models or from other carriers, I’m sure, won’t be long following.

For new builds, go to Settings>System update>Download and Install to get it, and check for G991USQU5EWAI (S21), G996USQU5EWAI (S21+), and G998USQU5EWAI (S21 Ultra).

What has changed in One UI 5.1? A great deal.
Verizon mentions a large list of new features and modifications to One UI, but the main highlights are enhancements to the Camera, Gallery, Wallpaper, Widgets, and multitasking. Look for better and faster animations, a new battery widget, a new weather widget, easier access to Samsung’s Expert RAW mode, collaboration across Samsung Notes, improved media output controls, DeX something-or-other, and more.

We’ve already heard from at least one reader who downloaded this update (thanks, Matthew! ), so please have a look. While this isn’t Android 14 or a major OS update, it is a really good update from Samsung.
